The most important thing to raise chickens in summer is to prevent heatstroke and cool down. To do this work, you need to pay attention to the following questions.
Ventilation. One is to reduce the temperature, and the other is to reduce the concentration of toxic gases. In addition to ventilation of doors and windows, ventilation can also be carried out by fans. In large-scale farms, automated poultry farming equipment is used, with adjustable temperature and time-controlled fans for ventilation. Place the temperature control probe in the most representative temperature in the house. When the actual temperature exceeds the set temperature, start ventilation. When the temperature is lower than the set temperature, the fan will be turned off.
Cool down. Indoor water cooling is the principle of using water spray to cool down, and the liquid water is cooled by evaporation in the air to cool down. In the process of using water spray to cool down, it can be combined with chicken spray disinfection. The use of water evaporation, control of water droplets, so that it forms a mist to disinfect, it is necessary to pay attention to the use of water spray cooling method in high temperature and high humidity areas.
Drinking water. Ensuring adequate drinking water is especially important for summer management. It is necessary to pay attention to prevent individual chickens from occupying the drinking water position, so that other chickens have difficulty in drinking water. On the one hand, they should observe and drive the chickens on the one hand, and on the other hand, increase the drinking utensils.
Summer high temperature chickens are prone to heat stroke, which not only affects the laying volume of laying hens, but also affects the growth rate of chickens, so it must be taken seriously.
Chicken heat stroke conditions
When the temperature exceeds 32 °C, and the chicken house is poorly ventilated and the sanitary conditions are poor, the chicken is prone to heatstroke. The density of the flock is too high, and the chicken is prone to heatstroke when it is more obese. From 19:00 to 21:00 in the evening, it is the peak time of chicken heatstroke death. Because the temperature in the afternoon is high, the temperature regulation function of the chicken has reached its limit. The body temperature is raised to the critical point of shock at this time, so it is prone to heatstroke.
Integrated control measures
Spray water to cool down. Every day after 12:00 noon, in the inner space of the chicken house, the cooling well water is sprayed once every 2 to 4 hours, which can effectively reduce the temperature inside the house. It is also possible to spray cool water into the chicken coop and the chicken battery cages. When spraying water, the doors and windows should be opened to make the air convection in the chicken house.
Block the sun. On the shed, cover a layer of about 15 cm of straw or wheat straw and sprinkle with cool water to keep it moist, which can effectively block sunlight from entering the house. You can also plant trees around the house to block the sun.
