Common diseases and prevention of broiler cage breeding

The use of broiler cage equipment for broiler chickens is now an indispensable device for broiler chickens. However, some farmers have caused management problems in the feeding process due to management problems. It is not terrible for a chicken to get sick. As long as it is timely to treat the right medicine, don’t drag it. The following authors summarize the common diseases of several broilers for the reference of farmers.

1. Chest cyst: Chest cyst is caused by anterior synovial sac in broiler keel. The reason why broilers will get this disease is: Because broilers are large and heavy, they are unwilling to move. They are often lying on the ground or in chicken cages. They are stimulated by mechanical friction for a long time, causing inflammation of the synovial sac and forming cysts. Common symptoms of this disease are: broiler breasts are red, swollen, and have a sense of fluctuating. The cyst is located between the sternum and the skin. The incision can be seen as a light brown liquid in the cystic cavity. For a long time, the liquid capsule cavity becomes hard and cheese-like. Prevention is most effective in improving feeding practices. In the late feeding period, the caged broiler was replaced with a bamboo net, which reduced the disease from 40% to 15%. The use of plastic chicken cages is even better. If it is free-range, it should strengthen the management of litter, keep it clean, dry and soft. The diet supplies enough minerals such as vitamin A, vitamin D and calcium phosphate, and increases the feeding frequency and reduces the amount of feeding. Promote broiler activity to reduce friction between the chest and the ground.

2. Broiler leg disease: Broiler leg disease is caused by metabolic disorders, also known as soft leg disease. Broilers are very easy to happen. Causes: Broilers grow fast and have a strong metabolism, while the lack of calcium, phosphorus, vitamin D or their proportion is not suitable for feeding. The house is damp and too dense, and it is easy to make the chicken limp. Manganese deficiency can cause dislocation of chicken Achilles tendon. Symptoms: The sick chicken is unwilling to move, standing difficult, lying down, thin, and deformed in leg shape. After dragging, flexion, joint swelling. The dissection can be seen that some parts become brittle, necrotic, and some parts become soft. Prevention: Once the disease occurs in broilers, the content of trace elements such as calcium, phosphorus, vitamin D and manganese in the feed should be checked. If calcium and phosphorus are deficient, calcium hydrogen phosphate, bone powder and shell powder may be added to the feed; if manganese is absent, manganese sulfate or manganese carbonate may be added to the feed. In order to prevent this disease, as the broiler grows, the ratio of calcium to phosphorus in the feed is adjusted, and trace element additives are added to the feed.

3. Fatty liver disease: This disease is a disease that occurs in broilers because of fat metabolism disorders, a large amount of fat accumulates in the liver, causing liver steatosis. The main reason for this disease is due to the excessive pursuit of broiler growth rate, giving high proportion of high-energy feed and high-protein feed to broiler chickens, exceeding the processing, transformation and utilization capacity of chicken liver, and the broiler chickens are not good at activities. As a result, these high-energy feeds are deposited in the liver in the form of neutral fat. The main symptoms are sick chicken growth and sensation are very good, suddenly die without any clinical symptoms. Prevention and treatment: In order to prevent this disease, it is necessary to properly mix the feed in the usual breeding, and do not over-pursuing the growth rate and feeding a high proportion of high-energy feed and high-protein feed. If the disease occurs in the flock, care should be taken to add choline chloride (1 g/kg feed), inositol (1 g/kg feed), and vitamin E (10 units/kg feed) to the feed. At the same time, the proportion of high-energy feed and high-protein feed is appropriately reduced.

The above is the most common disease in chickens during the process of raising chickens using poultry farming equipment. It is hoped that farmers should pay attention to them at all times.
